Peak Sports and Learning is an Outside School Hours Care service based in NSW servicing the Illawarra regions. With fully qualified teachers on staff we aim to provide the best service for your family.
What happens at Peak Sports & Learning?
More then just outside school hours care we provide a service that will develop your child's academic & sporting skills through our allocated sports and homework & tuition time.
Where are you located?
Peak Sports & Learning operates out of Tullimbar Public School, Shellharbour Public School, Oak Flats Public School & St John's Catholic Primary School.
Do I have to pack afternoon tea, lunch or breakfast?
After School Care: We provide a healthy afternoon tea with fruit juice & water.
Before school care breakfast is provided including cereal and toast.
Vacation Care: We provide lunch and breakfast daily. Pack a snack and drink.
Is your centre registered and do I recieve child care benefits?
Yes we are! All you need to pay is the gap after your nominated subsides are deducted (conditions apply).
How do I make payment?
We accept EFT transfer and cash/ cheque payment on pick up. Payment must be made 2 weeks in advance.

How does my child get to and from Peak Sports & Learning?
We have our own bus pick up service from following nominated schools for After School and from Before School Care:
Shellharbour- Shellharbour, Barrack Heights, Flinders, Shell Cove, Warilla, Lake Illawarra South, Shellharbour Anglican College & Stella Maris.
Albion Park - Tullimbar, Mt Terry, Albion Park Rail, St Pauls, Illawarra Christian School & Albion Park.
Oak Flats- Oak Flats, Balarang, Nazareth & Mt Warrigal.
Dapto- St John's Catholic school only
What are the staff to student ratios?
The staffing ratio varies for different types of activity.
They are as follows:
On-site 1:15
Excursions / off site activities 1:8
Water based activities 1:6
Are your staff trained in child care?
All of our staff are qualified teachers, teachers in training (at University) or are completing a certificate in OOSH services.
All staff undergo annual training including:
Working with Children Checks
First Aid
Behaviour Management
Food Safety
What if my child requires medication?
Please ensure you complete the medication section in the enrolment form. Medication is safely stored and is only administered by nominated staff. We require medication taking to be sighted and signed off by staff at all times. Please discuss this with the centre supervisor. For more information please read the Medication Policy in our Policies and Procedures Handbook.
What if I am late picking my child up?
We close at 6.00pm for After School and Vacation Care
We take into consideration extenuating circumstances, however late fees do apply. Please see our policies and procedures or enrolment handbook for more information.
No child will ever be left waiting alone. Therefore, if your child is not picked up by 6:00pm our staff will contact you and or those nominated on your enrolment form.
Can I send a friend or a relative collect my child?
Yes, if they appear on your enrolment form an a nominated pick up person.
Yes you can. You can also notify us specifically of unapproved people but it must be in writing prior to collection.
How do you deal with behavioural problems/ difficult children?
Peak Sports & Learning has behaviour management procedures in place. The Nominated and Certified Supervisors at each centre are qualified school teachers. The children undergo a structured routined program daily which assists with child behaviour. Please see our Policies and Procedures for a detailed outline of Behaviour Management at Peak. We work in conjunction with the parents/ carers to provide rules, guildelines and consequences to suit to needs of the individual child.
What if my child has special needs?
It is important to discuss this with the Peak staff prior to enrolment. Please ensure you complete this section on your enrolment form with as much information as possible. The Peak staff will discuss your child's needs with you prior to enrolment. The more information you supply to us concerning your child's needs is very important. The more detailed, then the more informed and prepared we are able to be in providing effective and adequate care. Itis also imprtant to provide any Health Care plans of information.
What are the fees?
The fees vary depending on your centrelink benefits- Fees vary person to person so please contact us and we can give you an estimation of your fees.
We offer a Casual and Permanent Booking Rate for Before, After School Care & Vacation Care.
